My grand-father Dr.S.Selvarajan was born on 16.01.1916, along with four brothers and four sisters. Among them, he was the only one who learned Siddha from his father Late Subbarayalu Naidu. Though my great grandfather was a diamond merchant, he was practicing Siddha at free of cost to the patients.

However, my grand-father Late Dr.S.Selvarajan was practicing Siddha as his profession at Erode. He was one of the Siddha Consultants to our Late Chief Minister Mr.M.G.Ramachandran. After his demise on 29.10.1983, his only son, that is, my father Mr.S.Ravichandran who learned Siddha from my grand-father, was forced to practice Siddha.

My father Mr.S.Ravichandran, born on 24.11.1955 as the only son to my grandfather settled in Chennai in the year 1989. Then he has started a Nursing Home, along with my mother Mrs.R.Nandabala, a retired Nursing Superintendent.

In the said Nursing Home, there was a lot of Allopathy Consultants practiced, though my father was practicing Siddha as a Hereditary Siddha Practitioner. Though my father was a law graduate at that time, he didn’t enroll him as an advocate.

Though the name of my father is Mr.Ravichandran, he is still used to call and identify only as ‘SELVAM DOCTOR‘ in memory of my grand-father Late Dr.SELVARAJAN.

I, Dr.R.Prasad, B.A.M.S., was born on 18.01.1981, along with two elder sisters who are now well known advocates in North Chennai. I did my medicine in Ayurvedam in Sri Jayandra Saraswathi Medical College, Poonamallee.

After my successful completion of degree in Ayurvedam, I started my practice of Ayurvedam in my father’s clinic since he has enrolled him as an advocate and he has gone for his legal profession.

I am very proud to point out here that my “Sri Selvam Ayurveda Clinic” run by me is not only familiar and famous in Chennai, but also even in abroad. With the blessings of my grandfather and my father, now I am practicing as a good Ayurvedic Practitioner.
